Sarah Bruce, PsyD | Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Sarah Bruce is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. Dr. Bruce has been working with autistic individuals across the lifespan since 2002. She received advanced training in the treatment and assessment of autistic individuals at the Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through her doctoral program at the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium and during her post-doctoral fellowship at The Help Group and UCLA’s Semel Institute.
In addition to her work at Spectrum Psych LA, Dr. Bruce works as an attending psychologist at the UCLA PEERS ® Clinic. Her areas of clinical interest and expertise include the intersection of autistic and LGBTQIA+ identities, complex clinical presentations (e.g., autism with ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, etc.), and family therapy for families impacted by autism. Her affirming style and flexible, strengths-based approach allows her to meet clients where they are at, tailor therapy to incorporate clients’ strengths and interests, and help clients develop practical and realistic strategies for overcoming obstacles in their path.
Dr. Bruce is passionate about advocating for the neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities through public speaking engagements, her role as a member of the CAN Coalition at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, and various volunteer activities. In her free time, She enjoys relaxing at home with her family and two cats, exploring the Los Angeles food scene, and taking walks. She is happy to be back in the Los Angeles area after a 6-year hiatus in the San Francisco Bay Area for graduate school..
