Therapy for Adults
Our team uses client-centered, neurodivergent-affirming, & skill-based strategies to help adults:
improve their ability to regulate emotions
target anxiety and mood concerns
increase flexibility
bolster executive functioning
improve friendships, dating, & social relationships
build independent living skills
Treatment is always individualized to target specific goals based on your unique needs and priorities, with the goal to generalize use of skills outside of session and into daily life. Clients that are an appropriate for our clinical services generally have diagnoses or difficulties related to autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression and/or mood concerns.
Some of the approaches our therapists use include: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, breath work, social skills (e.g., PEERS), exposure response prevention (ERP), parent management training (PMT), and parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT).
Therapy: What to Expect
Following a free consultation to determine appropriate fit for services, an intake appointment will be scheduled to gather background information, current presenting problems and concerns, and to begin to identify treatment targets for therapy.
Our therapists provide concrete, skills-based treatment, and clients can often make significant progress on a short-term basis. Treatment goals will be monitored over time to ensure progress. A treatment plan will be discussed at the initial intake appointment and continually addressed throughout therapy.
